VATSIM-UK is split into a number of Regional Training Schemes (RTS) for the purposes of managing your training program as a controller in the most efficient way. Once you have your rating, you may control wherever you wish, but during your training you will develop close ties with your home RTS. Selecting an RTS is a simple process and takes place after you pass your Observer to Student 1 theory test.
You can find information on each RTS below, including who is in-charge of membership and the training there. The training airfields for each RTS are listed; please note that due to high demand your chosen training airfield may not be available to you. At the same time, if you wish to pursue your training on an airfield which isn't listed, please contact your RTS Instructor. Please note that some RTSs have special functions and may not be available for you to join, as a new controller, from the outset. Details of these are made clear below.
